Nourish Ways - Logo

We all have the potential for greatness lurking within, budding potential that only we, ourselves, have the power to set free – just like the Strelitzia, symbolic of your own untapped power to manifest the fullness of who and what you are meant to be. Native to South Africa, this regal and striking flower, also known as the bird of paradise, is the inspiration for my brand. As a symbol of joy, freedom, resilience, dignity, positivity and transformation – unfurling its true power as it bursts into bloom after a long dormancy – it represents everything that Nourish Ways stands for.

The flower is exquisite, unique in nature reminding us how unique and different we all are. The three sepals – are embodying the holistic approach to healing mind, body and soul. It is the visual representation for Nourish Ways and its purpose. Before it blooms, for days on end, the Strelitzia bud sits in waiting. Slowly you start to see some movement through a thin membrane and then, suddenly, something clicks and the first set of sepals and petals burst through – the moment of awakening. Over the next few days and weeks, more sets will follow suit, one by one. By the end, it always seems unbelievable that such power and potential was always waiting inside the original bud – just waiting for the right moment to burst through as the flower has its literal and figurative moment in the sun.

And, not only does the flower become a point of attraction but a point of further nourishment: with sunbirds and weavers, each waiting for an opportunity to enjoy the very sweet and nutritious nectar inside. And, in turn, the plant benefits from pollination, ensuring its legacy can continue and at the same time it elicits its own magnetic response. When we awaken our inner power, the energy attracts others towards us for all the right reasons. Strelitzias don't think twice about holding their heads high and beaming brightly!
